If you are unable to afford important prescription medications, the Free Clinic of Central Virginia may be able to help. To receive prescription assistance from the Free Clinic of Central Virginia, you must first be enrolled as a Free Clinic of Central Virginia patient with current income verification on file.

If your Free Clinic of Central Virginia healthcare provider determines that you need prescription medication to manage a health condition, he/she will write you a prescription which can be filled at our recommended pharmacy:

Hill City Pharmacy and the Free Clinic of Central Virginia are often able to get prescriptions for Free Clinic of Central Virginia patients at low or no cost to the patient. Also, thanks to the support of our donors, the Free Clinic of Central Virginia spends $55,000 annually to purchase prescriptions for our patients.
Donors: Please note that state regulations prohibit the Free Clinic of Central Virginia from accepting donated medications from the community. Contact your pharmacy for safe disposal guidelines.
MedsHelp
Our innovative MedsHelp program helps low-income Free Clinic of Central Virginia and Community Access Network patients to obtain their prescription medication. We help patients with the application process for pharmaceutical companies’ Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs). These programs provide medications at no cost. Because applications for PAPs are submitted to pharmaceutical companies for approval, it can take four to six weeks to receive prescription medications.
Eligibility for MedsHelp and Patient Assistance Programs is different from eligibility for other Free Clinic of Central Virginia services. Call (434) 847-5866 ext. 25 for information about specific PAP eligibility criteria.
